Fashion, Sport, Tourism: the exhibition
5 July – 29 October 2023 - EXTENDED UNTIL 18 FEBRUARY 2024
The videos in which Roger Federer conveys the image of Switzerland and its possible, new Grand Tour are highly emblematic of visual communication models capable of suggesting fascinating connections. Produced by "Switzerland Tourism", the videos in fact entrust the tourist message to one of the most popular and beloved sports champions, synonymous in the contemporary imagination of the beauty of athletic gestures closely linked to the elegance of clothing and fashion.
This is the end of the Fashion, Sport, Tourism exhibition, organised by the Museo della Grafica, the Municipality of Pisa and the University of Pisa in collaboration with USI - Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano, Switzerland). And it starts from afar.
Graphic works, posters, clothes and videos compose an original journey through images of champions, stylists and places that communication strategies and models from the early 20th century to the present day combine as motifs of theatre and cinema, graphics and advertising. These are splendid stories of fashion, sport, scenery and tourist itineraries: from Elsa Schiaparelli to Emilio Pucci, Bally, Caruso, Purest, Lacoste, Federer, Miu Miu, from Pisa to Saint Tropez.
The exhibition is part of the programme of the international conference Fashion communication: between tradition and future digital developments (Pisa, 3-5 July 2023)
