Collegio dedicato a Tiziano Terzani in via San Lorenzo 26 (L. Corevi, Comune di Pisa)The Sant'Anna School, in Piazza Martiri della Libertà, has dedicated the college in via San Lorenzo 26 to Tiziano Terzani. Terzani was born in Florence in 1938 and in 1957 began to study in Pisa, having been admitted to the medical-juridical college annexed to the Scuola Normale. He enrolled in the Faculty of Law. He lived in China, Singapore and in the United States; was for years the correspondent for the German newspaper Der Spiegel and wrote numerous novels, especially recounting his experience in Asia.
About the years he spent in Pisa, Alberto de Maio has written:
'The climate of freedom and progressive orientation suited him perfectly and developed his sensitivity towards social issues. In an ideal environment to cultivate himself, he read more than just texts on current affairs and was interested in everything, even cinema, feeding this other passion of his by watching films from the classic film library at the Normale Cineclub. Sometimes he would discuss them until late at night. Tiziano often repeated that in the Normale boarding school he had grown a lot.'
