Dear Monica. Fragments, images, memories.
The Cineclub Arsenale exhibition dedicated to Monica Vitti, the unique face and voice of Italian cinema.
An exhibition for Monica Vitti at the Arsenale di Pisa: the historic Cineclub pays homage to the actress, protagonist of the 2024 membership card, unforgettable face of Italian cinema, with the exhibition entitled Cara Monica. Fragments, images, memories, scheduled from Tuesday 9 April to Sunday 5 May 2024. Inauguration on Tuesday at 6 pm.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Pisa and Chiara Tognolotti, Professor of the History of Italian Cinema at the University of Pisa. We thank the Banca Popolare di Lajatico for supporting the project.

The autobiographies and the original screenplay of the film Dramma della gelosia (all details in the chronicle) will also be on show. There will also be a space for the public's thoughts and memories.
By framing a QR code dedicated to the exhibition, fragments of Monica Vitti's life will be revealed: the most significant moments of her career will be narrated by the voice of Florentine actress Ilaria Favini, starting from the texts of her two autobiographies Sette sottane (1993) and Il letto è una rosa (1995). In addition, the audio of the dubbing of the film Il grido will be played through headphones.
Amidst clothes and accessories from the 1970s, with a game of imagination one can experience the pre-takes, thanks to the reconstruction of a dressing room with a make-up mirror and images of the artist's dress sketches, realised in collaboration with the Cerratelli Foundation, costume designers Marta Scarlatti (Pisa) and Luigi Bonanno (Rome), VLAB Vintage, Myò women's clothing, Simoncini arredamenti, Fisio Cosmetics Natural & Deluxe Haircare and Flora Salute e benessere.
