- "THE NEW MUSIC. LA RIVOLUZIONE DELLA MONODIA ACCOMPAGNATA NEL SEICENTO ITALIANO", concert of the cycle "I concerti della Normale" with the soprano Monica Piccinini. The new music. The revolution of accompanied monody in the Italian seventeenth century. Many centuries ago, there was no difference between the 'classical' music that was heard in the courts in front of a select group of people and the 'popular' music that was performed in the streets. the compositions of this concert, written in the 17th century, are characterised by catchy music, often crossed with dance rhythms. Melodies performed with today's unusual instruments such as the colascione, the theorbo, the sordellina, and unba music for an audience far larger than the niche of enthusiasts to which it is usually offered.
