Friday 6 January sees the return of the traditional appointment with the 'Tuffo di Befana' (Epiphany dive) in Marina di Pisa. The meeting for all participants is in Piazza Sardegna at 11.00 a.m. for registration, which will be followed, at 11.45 a.m., by the arrival of the Avis Befana with sweets for the children, and at 12.00 noon the first bath of the year. The initiative, now in its fifteenth edition, is promoted by Avis Pisa and Amici del Mare di Livorno, sponsored and supported with the contribution of the Municipality of Pisa. In addition to Avis Pisa and Amici del Mare di Livorno, the initiative is held in cooperation with the Italian Red Cross Pisa Committee, Pisa Public Assistance, Croce Azzurra Litorale Piasano and the International Police Association.
A protected environment will be made available for the plunge, where people will be able to change independently (but without the possibility of leaving clothes, given the confined spaces and the large number of participants). After the plunge, there will be awards for the largest group, youngest and oldest divers.
Participation in the plunge is free and open to all.
