On Sunday 3 April, the San Rossore Racecourse returns to host the Premio Pisa, now in its 132nd edition, in its natural location after three years. Racing will be at the heart of the day and in addition to the Premio Pisa (sponsored by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing) there will be the other Listed Race of the day, the Premio Regione Toscana, two main handicaps, the Premi San Rossore and Enrico Camici, while the international note will be given by the Longines FEGENTRI World Championship for Gentleman Rider. Racing but not only, as always at San Rossore and the Pisa Prize will be accompanied by a series of events and shows to make this day unique and unforgettable.
SAN ROSSORE HATS DAY
A touch of elegance and charm is never a bad thing and, for this reason too, the San Rossore racecourse invites ladies and gentlemen to come dressed in hats: whether refined or playful, it doesn't matter, the important thing is to be creative. For those who have little imagination or little time in the days leading up to this day of racing, there is always the support of Rinaldelli Modisteria of Livorno with Alessandra Talozzi and her collaborators will be at the gazebo at the main entrance for the last "touches". Rinaldelli, which has had its shop in Livorno since 1930, will be offering a voucher to the winner of the competition for the most elegant or original hat. Admission to the racecourse for ladies wearing hats is free.
LAURA MAGIC HORSE SHOW
Laura is a nationally and internationally renowned artist who performs in different shows, changing costumes and choreographies, horses and disciplines with an almost maniacal attention to detail. Her shows are a mix of elegance and style and create a combination of woman and horse that arouses deep emotions. Laura has also performed in the Golden Gala at Fiera Cavalli Verona but also in front of Pope Francis, in worldvision from the Paul VI Hall. Laura Magic Horse Show will present three numbers in San Rossore during the afternoon: horse in freedom, waltz and haute schooling at the long reins ... and it will be a spectacle!
FIRE AIDA AND GRAPES
The parterre of the San Rossore racecourse will be the stage for three street artists. Fire Aida will entertain the audience with her circus juggling skills and will use special coloured fans, circus tools and hula hoops in unique choreographies. The Chicchi d'Uva company will be represented by Lucia and Andrea, who will be visible from far away on stilts, giving them a unique view of our racecourse.
LUCA BATTISTINI TRIO
The trio was born in 2018 on the occasion of the presentation of "Music Onde Road", Luca Battistini's first record of unreleased songs, produced by Lorenzo Carpita and Luca himself, participating in many important festivals. Thanks to their connection with the world of surfing, the trio performs at important surf and skate festivals and around Italian clubs. In addition to the songs of "Music Onde Road" the band plays a repertoire of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and many others. The band consists of Luca Battistini (vocals and guitar), Lorenzo Carpita (bass) and Tommaso Panicucci (drums). The trio will be the soundtrack on the day of the 132nd Pisa Prize.
THE BUTTERS
Other protagonists on the day of the 132nd Pisa Prize will be two cowboys who, with their Maremmani horses, will guard the presentation ring, accompanying the entry of participants in the seven races and will have the honour of opening the parade of participants in the classic Pisa race. The two cowboys are Maurizio Ferrucci (known as the Professor) on Giovanni and Gianluca Gabbriellini on M. Quaresimo.
