Pisa celebrates the day of the birth of the great scientist Galileo Galilei with a program of events that involves prestigious city institutions. The Municipality of Pisa, in fact, has coordinated the initiatives that will be organized in various parts of the city, such as the Cittadella Galileiana, the Museo della Grafica, the Walls of Pisa, the Camposanto Monumentale, and the Republican Arsenals. An authentic Galilean itinerary in the city that gave birth to Galileo Galilei in 1564. An excellent opportunity to learn about known and lesser known aspects of Pisa and its rich and varied scientific and tourist offer.
Program
- 10.30am-12.30pm, Cittadella Galileiana (via Bonanno Pisano 2 / B / via Nicola Pisano 25), Presentation of the educational paths "in the footsteps of Galileo" set up by the Museums hosted at the Citadel, which will be followed by the inauguration of the new “Percorsi Galileiani” by Sergio Giudici.
- 10.00 am - 5.00 pm, Walls of Pisa, free special opening of the route. Also on the walls (from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm), the Piezometric Tower (formerly Marzotto, between via Buonarroti and via Vittorio Veneto) will be replicated the Galilean experiments for visitors, by the scientific library and the University Physics Department of Pisa.
- 17.30-20.00h, Museo della Grafica di Palazzo Lanfranchi (Lungarno Galilei, 9), an afternoon in the company of Galileo between art and music.
