From 20 November 2021 to 6 January 2022, Pisa will host a rich calendar of events organised by Confesercenti Toscana Nord, which won the tender published by the Municipality of Pisa for the management and programming during the Christmas period, including an ice rink, markets, educational tours and guided excursions.
The lighting and installation of Christmas trees will be paid for by the Municipality.
The proposals are as follows:
Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II: where there will be the traditional covered ice rink, a LED screen for projecting images from inside the market and a Christmas market;
Piazza del Carmine: small wooden houses for the sale of Christmas decorations;
Logge di Banchi: traditional stalls, themed panels created by the Russoli Institute and Santa's little house where children can post their letters and take a souvenir photo. Unicef stands will be present, hosting other voluntary associations. The market will also be enriched by the presence of activities to raise awareness against the abandonment of pets and in this regard a "little house" has been freely assigned to the association "Code nel Cuore" with "Il Frutteto di Fido".
Piazza Garibaldi: for all the weekends of the period (except for the period between 18 and 24 December), a craft market of ingenuity;
Largo Ciro Menotti: space dedicated to chocolate and Christmas sweets. In the chocolate stand, in the week before Christmas, a "throne" will be set up with a post box for children to deposit their letters. A Santa will welcome the young guests and will have the pleasure of taking photos with them. The Santa will then be replaced by the Befana, who will also welcome the children and listen to their wishes.
Piazza della Pera: exhibition and sale of typical food products from the Italian regions, with particular emphasis on Tuscan products;
Piazza Martiri della Libertà: on Sunday 19 December, a re-use market, thanks to the 'Occhio del Riciclone' association;

On Sunday 19 December 2021, at 5 p.m., in the Church of San Michele in Borgo (Pisa, Borgo stretto, 10), the Association of the students of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, in collaboration with the Circolo Culturale San Francesco, offers the entire population a musical initiative to end the year and exchange greetings, in view of the festivities: "Et pastores venerunt", a concert for organ and viola by the Duo Galanti (Sara Galanti, viola; Antonio Galanti, organ).
The title of the performance recalls the link with Christmas. According to the story of the birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke, the shepherds were the first to come to the manger: they are traditionally associated with typical musical instruments and singing melodies, recalled in organ writing by composers such as Frescobaldi, Pasquini and Zipoli, whose "Pastorals" will be the leitmotif of the evening. These will be joined by pieces for organ and viola and solo viola, taken from some of the most famous pages of the classical repertoire (Bach, Bréval, Stamitz and Telemann).
Admission is free of charge (with a green pass for vaccination or recovery).
