Under the banner of the new styles of contemporary jazz, Blue Velvet was born from the artistic collaboration between Alessandro Lanzoni and Ben Wendel, tested in the last years by a series of tours. Ben Wendel is one of the stars of the current saxophonist scene and is distinguished by the genius and the great originality of its melodic lines. He is considered one of the most interesting composers ever at the moment, as well as one of the most astonishing virtuosos of his instrument.
Alessandro Lanzoni, 25-year-old Florentine pianist, is one of the most important revelations of Italian jazz, considering that for the last ten years he has been in the attention of critics and audiences for the depth with which he expresses his poetics based on an encyclopedic musical culture .
The two are flanked by one of the best American rhythms in
circulation such as the young but already well-established Joe Sanders, (can boast collaborations such as Charles Lloyd, Gerald Clayton, Roy Hargrove) and the great Greg Hutchinson (column of modern jazz drums and collaborator of Ray Brown, Hoe Henderson, Peter Bernstein, Joshua Redman and Kurt Rosenwinkel, just to name a few).
