Saturday 15 July sees the start of the summer 2023 programme of events that will once again animate the Pisan coastline with the numerous appointments of 'Marenia NonSoloMare', promoted by the Municipality of Pisa. Many are the evenings with meetings, book presentations, concerts, children's shows and talent shows, all with free admission, that make up the summer festival on the Pisan coastline between Marina di Pisa, Tirrenia and Calambrone.
Like last year, the redeveloped Ciclilandia Park in Tirrenia's Piazza dei Fiori will be the seaside garden hosting the Dialoghi d'autore review. From 15 July to 5 August, a rich calendar of book presentations and meetings with authors curated by Pisan bookshops will provide an opportunity to listen to and dialogue with authors of national relevance and local references, ranging from detective stories to non-fiction, from current affairs to historical insights. This year the initiative has been organised with the participation of three bookshops: Libreria Pellegrini, Libreria Civico 14 and Libreria Fogola.
In Marina di Pisa, in Piazza delle Baleari from 16 to 20 August, space is given to major events organised by LEG, with live music concerts, the final of the La Nazione Talent Show, and, to close the event, the traditional fireworks on Saturday 2 September. There are also many events organised by the Pro Loco del Litorale Pisano at the Tirrenia Golf Club, in various bathing establishments, and at Ciclilandia, which this year also hosts the Ciclilandia sotto la luna events. From 25 July to 2 August, a series of evenings, with the collaboration of Confcommercio Pisa and La Nazione, ranging from Blue Night, book presentations, poetry festivals, Rememories evening, tastings with show cooking, and musicals for children.
For children, the magic of evenings with puppets, marionettes, fairy tales and stories is back with the "Teatrino del Sole" in Marina di Pisa (Giardino delle scuole Viviani, from 1 to 30 July), with puppet and puppet theatre companies from all over Italy.
At Calambrone, on the other hand, "Eliopoli Summer" will take place (Piazza A. Madonna) with live music, meetings, shows and talk shows that will enliven the square of Eliopoli for weekends throughout the summer.
"Marenia NonSoloMare" is the series of summer events promoted by the Municipality of Pisa, Department of Tourism, and realised thanks to the Fondazione Teatro Verdi di Pisa, with the contribution of the Pisa Chamber of Commerce, Tirrenica Mobilità, Acque Spa, Sib Confcommercio, and the participation of Confcommercio Pisa, the cultural association Eliopoli, La Nazione - Le Notti di Talento, Pro Loco Litorale Pisano, Alex Sabatini, Teatrino del Sole, and the independent bookshops of the city and the coast.
All events are free of charge (with the exception of the Teatrino del Sole shows) subject to availability.

Teatrino del Sole (Viviani School Garden in Marina di Pisa)
23rd edition of the Teatrino del Sole in Marina di Pisa, the most important event dedicated to Figure Theatre on the Tuscan coast with professional companies from all over Italy, supported by the Municipality of Pisa, the Pisa Foundation and Unicoop Firenze, and sponsored by the Region of Tuscany and the Toscana Spettacolo Foundation. On Friday 14 July there will be the Pisa company of Habanera Teatro with its production entitled Codamozza il Gatto, for puppets and actor, based on a story from Le Mille e una Notte. Also taking the stage on this occasion will be the students of the Teatro a Merenda course held during the winter by the directors of Habanera Teatro, who will stage a short version of I Musicanti di Brema.
On Friday 21 July, it will be the turn of the historic Florentine company I Pupi di Stac who will stage their version of La Bella Addormentata nel Bosco, a traditional Florentine puppet show (with legs).
On Friday 28 July, a company from Vercelli will step onto the small stage with a performance related to the Commedia dell'Arte, entitled La fame di Arlecchino (Harlequin's Hunger), for puppets and actor.
The festival will close on Friday 4 August with one of the most talented puppeteers on the national scene: Mattia Zecchi, with his company of traditional puppets from Emilia, will present a hilarious Fagiolino pescatore (Punkin the fisherman).
