From Sunday 30 June to Sunday 7 July, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele will host the first ‘City of Pisa’ Padel Trophy organised by the City of Pisa in cooperation with the Pisa Padel Club. For seven consecutive days, one of the city centre's squares will be the protagonist from 9 a.m. until midnight with a series of challenges. It will also be possible to book courts for all citizens who will thus have the opportunity to play in a different location.
The tournament will be divided into women's and men's levels of play. The inauguration will be attended by Marcelo Capitani, professional player and former number 20 in the World Padel Tour ranking, head of the youth sector and technical commissioner of the national ‘under’ team, and Gustavo Spector, a famous Padel master in Italy and coach of the national team since 2014, who will give a demonstration of his training.
The court will be set up on the Corso Italia side of the square. Setting up and dismantling the court will take the previous three days and the following three days. A grandstand with a maximum capacity of 60 people will be set up, and a gazebo will also be set up on the square, where a small secretariat will be organised to assist the athletes.
