Pisa returns to be the capital of art with the Festival della Strada from 27 October 2023 to 7 January 2024.
Conceived by GianGuido Grassi with the association Start Attitude and promoted by Fondazione Palazzo Blu and Fondazione Pisa, the festival revolves around several exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops and the creation of new murals, with the contribution of the Municipality of Pisa and the Regional Council of Tuscany.
The exhibitions presented are in dialogue with the exhibition "Le Avanguardie".
Blue Palace houses Eduardo Kobra who creates in the Library a contemporary School of Athens, drawing from the portraits of the Avant-garde; 108, Moneyless, ETNIK, Aris, Gio Pistone, Massimo Sospetto reread the lesson of the Bauhaus through a collective of applied art, in the historical residence of the palace.
At the Church of the Spina we find the installation "Non Plus Ultra", by the Spanish Gonzalo Borondo that connects to the spirituality of the place, triggering an existentialist rather than religious reflection.
During the period of the festival many of the artists involved in the temporary exhibitions will also be involved in the creation of new murals in the district of Porta a Mare, going to cement the new identity of this area as an urban art district and open-air museum.
