On Friday 1 December at 4 p.m. at the Citadel Fortress, the exhibition 'Colours and Sorrows of the Planet' by Maestro Cesare Borsacchi will be inaugurated.

The exhibition will be open until 17 December 2023 with opening on Thursday-Friday-Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; on Saturday and Sunday there will also be an opening in the morning from 10:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m.

This event, promoted by the Municipality of Pisa and sponsored by Fondazione Arpa, celebrates an artist who has contributed significantly to the Foundation's initiatives, including the first edition of the Robotics Festival in 2017. Moreover, it is a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the works of a master of colour who was able to transform the sorrows of the world into artistic expressions of extraordinary power and beauty.

THE ARTIST

Cesare Borsacchi, born in Pisa but a citizen of the world, travelled extensively before finally settling in his hometown in 1995. The exhibition, curated by Nicola Miceli, aims to explore Borsacchi's artistic evolution through his global experiences, highlighting how his art has been influenced by different cultures, from pre-Columbian and tribal African art to Arab and Islamic culture, up to Mexican muralism and encounters with prestigious artists such as Siqueros.

Maestro Borsacchi is known for his ability to integrate the cultural richness gathered in his travels into the original core of his art, creating works that reflect a unique life and artistic journey. His 'ischemic visions', born out of a period of illness, represent an inner journey that expresses the complexity of his experiences and the depth of his artistic thinking.

On the occasion of the exhibition, the Guelph Tower will also be open to the public at the following times:
