June sees the return of the Summer in Music at Palazzo Blu, open-air events in the summer months, in the museum garden, with two reviews that represent a consolidated tradition: Opera a Palazzo and Pisa Jazz Festival.
The exhibition Opera a Palazzo offers four shows that will take place in the charming garden of Palazzo Blu, all dedicated to the work of Giacomo Puccini, from June 15 at 9 p.m.. The intent is to create a unique journey through his creations, from the most famous to the least known, for an unforgettable experience.
PROGRAMME
- Saturday 15 June, 9 p.m. - Courtyard of Palazzo Blu with ‘Suor Angelica’;
Suor Angelica explores the pain of loss and the search for redemption. The story of a nun facing her past and her faults reflects the theme of resilience and hope, crucial elements in times of global crisis.
- Saturday 13 July, 9 p.m. - Courtyard of Palazzo Blu with “Edgar”;
Edgar presents the conflict between passion and duty, reflecting the inner struggles and difficult choices that many people face today. The complexity of the characters and their decisions echo the ethical and moral challenges of the contemporary world.
- Saturday3 August, 9 p.m. - Courtyard of Palazzo Blu with “Boheme”;
La Bohème, perhaps the best known of Puccini’s works, celebrates love, friendship and economic difficulties, reflecting the current global crises. The stories of young bohemians struggling for survival and happiness in a difficult world are paralleled in the experiences of many today.
- Saturday 7 September, 9 p.m.- v with “Il Tabarro”;
The Tabarro tells a story of betrayal and despair, evoking themes of trust and deception particularly relevant in the context of current political and social tensions. The dark and intense plot draws attention to the dark sides of human relationships and the consequences of individual actions.
The shows will be performed as always by the company FuoriOpera, under the direction of Maestro Andrea Gottfriend, with stagings curated by Fabio Midolo. Before each performance, Dr. Carlo Pernigotti offers the public a detailed introduction and analysis of the scores, linking the compositions to the life and historical context of Puccini, thus enriching the viewer’s experience with a deeper understanding of the works. The organization is organized by Chi Vuol Esser Lieto Sia and Officina dei Transiti.
Events are free with reservations required on eventbrite.it.
