Originating as a performance in honour of someone, mostly sung under the window of one's beloved, the musical form of the serenade developed over the centuries until it reached its peak during classicism and romanticism, becoming 'almost' a symphony.
The Virtuoso Ensemble is a string-only group of young musicians, a chamber orchestra open to artists from all over the world that fills the gap in the performance of repertoire from the late 19th to the 20th century. The orchestra was formed as part of VPerformance Milano, the advanced training school for string instrumentalists directed by Adrian Pinzaru, an internationally renowned violinist who has been involved for years in educational projects for young talents.
