After the great success of the first edition, the great international street photography returns to Pisa. The most popular photographic genre of the moment, street photography, will see the second edition of the Festival "PSPI - PISA STREET PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNATIONAL" on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. Also this year the cultural association "TILT - STREET PHOTOGRAPHY TUSCANY", managed by Arez Prod and Mario Mencacci, both authors of street photograpy with important international feedback, has been able to involve many fans from all over the world.
Many authors, from all continents, participated in the international photo contest and the finalist photos will be exhibited in the exhibition held at the SMS Space, in Viale delle Piagge in Pisa. The jury that chose them is extremely qualified as it consists of authors among the best known internationally: Birgul Koc (Turkey), Alison McCauley (UK), Matt Stuart (UK), Regula Tschumi (Switzerland), Umberto Verdoliva (Italy) and Vineet Vohra (India).
In addition to the contest are planned solo exhibitions of the winners of the first edition (Des Byrne from Ireland and Zdenek Dvorak from the Czech Republic) and Matt Stuart, and conferences of important photographic authors including the same Matt Stuart. The series of lectures will be open in the morning, after the inauguration, by Stefano Carotenuto, Gianluca De Dominici, Roberto Nencini and Silvia Tampucci, will follow in the afternoon, Matt Stuart and Benedetta Falugi. The PhotoSlam will also follow, live worldwide on YouTube, with commentary on photographs sent by international authors by Valeria Tofanelli and Benedetta Falugi. At the end of the day the award ceremony will take place.
On Sunday there will be a photowalk with Benedetta Falugi and Valeria Tofanelli and the workshop of Matt Stuart, reserved for subscribers and sold out for some time. Other events will take place at the same time, managed by photo groups friends of the organizers: porfolio readings organized by the Photographic Association "The Group" of Colignola, photographic marathon organized by the association "Photo Experience" of Pisa, while the PhotoSlam is organized by the Photographic Section CREC Piaggio of Pontedera.
