The celebrations for the 850 years since the start of the works at the Campanile end on Friday, 9 August at 9:30 p.m. on the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, which opened on August 9, 2023 with a concert by the pianist Ramin Bahrami.
After a year full of events, the Opera della Primaziale Pisana entrusts the final event to music, with a recital by Francesco Meli, one of today’s most acclaimed tenors, accompanied by Davide Cavalli.
An almost entirely Italian program: memorable pages from operas and novels among the most beloved, as well as famous songs of the twentieth century and piano moments.

The show is free, with limited seating until availability.
It is not possible to book.
For the occasion, the Tower will be illuminated and from 8.30 p.m. to midnight, it will be possible to visit the monuments (Camposanto and Baptistery) and museums (Museo delle Sinopie and Museo dell'Opera del Duomo) in the square free of charge, with reservations required at www.impegnoefuturo.it.
The Cathedral, on the other hand, will have limited free admission, with no reservation required.
The bar/cafeteria on the upper floor of the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the museum bookshops will be open until midnight.
The Bell Tower and the temporary exhibition ‘La Torre allo Specchio’ (The Tower in the Mirror) will be closed from 5 pm.
Please also note that from 7.00 p.m. until 11.20 p.m. access to Piazza del Duomo from the Via Cardinal Maffi side will be closed, both incoming and outgoing.
