On Friday 13 and Friday 20 September, the Walls of Pisa will become the unique setting for the ‘Night Experience classic version’: night-time film tours with engaging audio and video content that will allow visitors to relive the history of Pisa from Roman times to medieval glories, from the industrial Pisa of the late 19th century to the present day.
The cine-guides will lead the participants on the elevated walkway projecting videos on the façades and the Walls, and the monument itself will narrate multiple adventures: the church of San Zeno and the mystery of the missing Roman amphitheatre, the ingenious workings and splendours of the Roman baths, the story of one of Pisa's first female entrepreneurs of the 20th century, Laura Ruschi, and of the San Zeno artistic ceramics factory, the Marzotto industrial epic from fascism to the social village, from the honorary degree to the statue destroyed by the riots in 1968, the rediscovery of the lost world of water and land that made Pisa a naval power feared throughout the Mediterranean in the first centuries after 1000, and much more.
Departure at 9.30 p.m. from the Piezometric Tower (Porta Pacis) at the Fibonacci Pole. The length of the walk is approximately 2 kilometres.
The route is closed in the event of bad weather.
