On Sunday, December 8, 2024, as per tradition, the Meucci mechanical historical crib will be open to the public until Sunday, January 26, 2025, during the opening hours of the museum, upon payment of a ticket (1 euro).
These nativity scenes were designed and built around the middle of last century by the wise hands of Calcesani Alberto and Renzo Meucci, with the help of valuable collaborators.
After the first crib, dating back to Christmas 1948, others were built that Renzo and Alberto took to Pisa, Livorno, Bologna, Verona, Milan, Turin, Parma, Ferrara, Rome and even to Bogotà, in Colombia.
Since 2013 the cribs are set up in the premises of the Museum of Natural History of the University of Pisa and every year, during the holidays, they come back to amaze young and old with their scenography, their details and movements of characters.
This year the Meucci cribs are also part of the network “Terre di presepi”.
