L'Isola Dei Cipressi Viventi, a dark electronic project founded by Venetian singer-songwriter Giovanni Fruzzetti, arrives live at La Nunziatina Garden in Pisa on 3 September at 7.30 p.m. - free admission - to present their debut album ‘Elettricità’ (Electricity), released on the Furious Party label.
Distorted synthesisers and abrasive guitars trace and mark a dense and impactful live show in which the sound dichotomy combines melancholic atmospheres of meditative lyrics and dance rhythms. A dimension of light and shadow between wild dances and liberating cries. Enriching Fruzzetti's sound and repertoire are Noemi Belliti's keyboards and Daniele Buffoni's drums.
The name ‘The Island of Living Cypresses’ is inspired by Böcklin's painting ‘The Island of the Dead’. For Giovanni, the cypress tree is a fundamental figure in his poetics as it encapsulates the dualism of life (the tree) and death (as it is present in cemeteries and a spokesperson for it). The debut album ‘Elettricità’ was produced together with Alessandro Sportelli (Prozac+, Sick Tamburo, Fluxus, Negazione, Dome la Muerte and many others).
