In the year of the centenary of the death of Franz Kafka, the Palazzo della Sapienza in Pisa will host from 17 October to 21 December the bilingual exhibition "Komplett Kafka / A tutto Kafka" free of charge, curated by Professor Serena Grazzini.

On display 20 printed panels in Italian and German, taken from the biographical book of the Austrian cartoonist and poet Nicolas Mahler, currently artistic director of the Schule für Dichtung (School of Poetry) in Vienna.

Promoted internationally by the Literaturhaus in Stuttgart and the Goethe Institut, the initiative is realized thanks to the synergy between ACIT Pisa (Italian-German Association) and the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics, and the collaboration with the SBA (Ateneo Library System), with the association "Pro Deutsch Italia" and with the Festival of Jewish culture Nessìah, which this year has reached its XXVIII edition (entirely dedicated to Kafka).

Opening

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday, October 17 at 12.00 in the Aula Magna Storica (Sapienza). In addition to the curator of the exhibition, will be Professor Cecilia Iannella, Delegate of the Rector for teacher training, Dr. Andrea Simonetti, Head of the Pisa School Board, Professor Roberta Ferrari, Director of the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics, Dr Gabriella Benedetti, Organizational Coordinator of the SBA, Dr Ilaria Gennai, Association Pro Deutsch Italia (Tuscany), Dr. Federico Prosperi, Festival of Jewish Culture Nessìah. After the greetings will be offered to the public a guided tour of the exhibition.

Information for the visit

The exhibition, free of charge, will be open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 19:00 until 21 December.
Access to groups will not be possible on 29 October and from 2 to 13 December.
In case of organized visits of groups (e.g. school classes) or to request a free visit of the exhibition it is necessary to write with adequate advance to the addresses of Prof. Serena Grazzini (serena.grazzini@unipi.it) and ACIT PISA (acitpisa@gmail.com). For schools, you can request the teaching materials prepared by the Goethe-Institut by writing to the addresses given here.
