Visits with video projections, at night and dedicated to historical events, yoga walks and surprises: a month of events.
The Walls of Pisa immerse themselves in the atmospheres of the Giugno Pisano, the most magical month for the city, proposing a series of special events on the monument, which in this period is open every day from 10 am to 8 pm.
For four Fridays, starting on 31 May and until 21 June, visit Mura di Pisa Night Experience with video projections with silent headphones and original content by Acquario della Memoria. For the first two replicas, revolving around Republic Day, war edition dedicated to the passage of World War II in the city. From the enthusiasm of the beginnings during fascism to the liberation of the city, passing through the bombing of 31 August 1943, the resistance, the cathedral invaded by evacuees, the Camposanto fire.
In the next two replicas, the classic edition of the event, an enthralling journey through the centuries, full of facts and anecdotes: from the ingenious workings of the Roman baths to the splendour of the Maritime Republic, from the life of Laura Ruschi to the vicissitudes of the Marzotto factory. Departure at 9.30 p.m. from the Porta Pacis Piezometric Tower and arrival in Piazza dei Miracoli, tickets cost €10.00.
Sunday 2 June at 5 p.m. Meditative walk 'Yoga on the Walls at Sunset' with Yoga teacher Simila Laiatici of the 'Ananda Guna K9 ASD' association. To greet the last weeks of spring while waiting for summer, a path that will alternate walking and reflection, with the exercise of conscious breathing that helps to relax, manage emotions and fight stress, to find balance and regenerate. Departure from Torre di Legno behind Piazza del Rosso with arrival in Piazza dei Miracoli at sunset, €20 fee, including entrance to the Walls, recommended for ages 12 and up. On Saturday 8 June, the third and last appointment of the year with Mura Botaniche (Botanical Walls) at 3 p.m.: with spring drawing to a close and summer on its way, the Botanical Garden guides will take visitors on a tour to discover the peculiarities of the flowers and shrubs growing on the walls or in the immediate vicinity. Departure at 3 p.m. from the Piezometric Tower, arrival in Piazza dei Miracoli and end of the tour at the Botanical Garden. Ticket €8 including admission to the two sites, compulsory booking by email to educazione.ortomuseobot@sma.unipi.it by Friday 7 June at 12 noon.
Saturday 15 and 22 June, in the days preceding and following the Luminara, 'Le Mura e il Giugno Pisano': a guided tour at high altitude to discover the history, the city monuments and the origin of the historical events. Departures at 6 and 6.30 p.m. from Torre Piezometrica, arrival in Piazza dei Miracoli at 7.30/20 p.m. Ticket 8 euros, 3 euros for children up to 8 years old.
Finally, on Friday 28 June, the summer appointments of Mura di Pisa by night, guided tours under the stars, taking advantage of the cooler hours of the evening to discover unprecedented views of the city, from Torre Piezometrica to the magic of Piazza dei Miracoli illuminated by the moon, will start again. Ticket 8 euro, 3 euro for children up to 8 years old.
