From Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3 November, the Chapel of Sant'Agata will host the painting exhibition ‘Volti del Gioco nei quadri di Marco Pellegrini’ (‘Faces of the Game in Marco Pellegrini's paintings’), a roundup of contemporary protagonists of the Gioco del Ponte portrayed with striking likeness by the artist, who associates each painting, case by case, with a detail linked to the challenge on the Bridge. The initiative, promoted and organised by the Municipality of Pisa (Department of Historical Traditions and the Department of Education) and the Parties of Mezzogiorno and Tramontana, is an opportunity to visit the monument owned by the municipality and recently restored by Palazzo Gambacorti with the contribution of the Fondazione Pisa.
The exhibition was inaugurated today in the presence of the municipal administration, while on the following days (1, 2 and 3 November) the opening will be from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m.. On 2 November, a space is reserved for the youngest: at 10.30 am, there will be the presentation of certificates of merit to the schools that, in the past school year, took part ‘in the initiatives carried out at school by the Parte di Mezzogiorno and the Parte di Tramontana aimed at the knowledge of the Gioco del Ponte and the history of the city’.
