THE ARTIST
Antonella Calorini, from San Miniato, presents 25 paintings and various watercolors and sketches. His works have been included in the catalogue of international art events, such as the recent "Somos", organized in Venice within the program of the 60th Biennale d'Arte. The works of the painter carve an expressive space dominated by the strength of color and the dynamism of essential forms, often linked to the gesture of circular movement. Calorini’s paintings show a proximity to the surrealist attitude in their attention to dreamlike and unconscious elements, recognizing abstract and mysterious realities in the symbolic recurrence of figures such as the tulip, the eye, the owl. The dialogue between interiority and universal laws, between the self and the world, is concretized in a series of paintings selected for the exhibition that highlight Calorini’s artistic research.
