Above the Walls for the little ones
Here are some of their scientific names: Asphodelus fistulosus, Stipellula capensis, Ficus carica (fico), Olea europaea (ulivo), Acer campestre (acero), Capparis orientalis (capperi), Ruta chalepensis (ruta), Dianthus balbisii (garofani selvatici), Campanula erinus, Saxifraga tridacylites.
And which animals frequent the walls of Pisa? Try to say a few names, let's see how many come to your mind; we will tell you some: wall lizard (darker than the ones we see in meadows), Common gecko, rat snake, bat, barn owl, dove, pigeon, seagull, weasel, stone marten, domestic cat and most likely the fox. Many of them populate the walls only during the night, when they find a protected path, creating a real ecological corridor.
