LES FEMMES / The Female Figure in Art in the GAMeC Art Archive Collection PISA (Galilei Room)
The exhibition ‘LES FEMMES / La Figura Femminile nell'Arte nella Collezione ARCHIVIO D'ARTE’, currently hosted in the Sala Galilei of the GAMeC CentroArteModerna in Pisa, is not only a tribute to the evolution of female representation in art, but also a celebration of the almost half a century of activity of this historic exhibition space.
Founded in fact in 1976, GAMeC CentroArteModerna has played a crucial role in the promotion of modern and contemporary art, becoming a point of reference for emerging and established artists. Over the years, the gallery has provided a stage for numerous creative personalities, hosting exhibitions that have left their mark on the Italian cultural scene. Its rich and varied collection bears witness not only to the talent of the artists but also to the dedication of the GAMeC in Pisa to documenting the changes and evolutions of art in Pisa through the decades.
Thus, works by: Pietro Annigoni, Paolo Avanzi, Stefano Ballantini, Germana Bartoli, Katerina Bodrunova, Tiziano Bonanni, Aldo Borgonzoni, Luciano Borin, Antonio Bueno, Maria Cristina Costanzo, Franco Gentilini, Renato Guttuso, Bruno Magoni, Uliano Martini, Franco Messina, Piergiorgio Pistelli, Lisandro Ramacciotti, Fabio Rossi, Oria Strobino, Piero Torresella, Renzo Vespignani, Alessandro Volpi.
The exhibition will continue until 26 March 2025 with free entrance. Hours: 10 am-12:30 pm/4-6:30 pm (weekdays); closed Mondays.
