With a program of 'mythical' songs of the jazz repertoire between the 20s and 40s of the twentieth century, Friday, February 23 at 9 p.m. on the stage of the Theatre of Pisa will stage Jazz Superclassics the musical project signed by Gina Giani and Piero Frassi Quartet.
The concert is organized by the Lions Club Pisa Certosa in collaboration with the Fondazione Teatro di Pisa and the Municipality of Pisa with the aim of raising funds for the Bosco delle Stelle one of several projects related to the construction of the new hospital of the Foundation Stella Maris-Neuropsychiatric institution for the care of children of developmental age.
Gina Giani (vocals), Piero Frassi (piano), Andrea Beninati (drums), Alessio Bianchi (trumpet) and Marco Benedetti (double bass) reread and reinterpret the compositions written by three great American composers: George Gershwin, Harold Arlen and Cole Porter. Special guests of the evening will be Carlo Frighetto, professional manager but also long-time guitarist and Gigi Rombi, patron of the legendary 'Doctor Jazz' who will join the group and bring on stage with their guitars the electric vibrations of some great rock standards. The concert will be presented by Candida Virgone.
