After the exhibition “Vedo il mare” concluded in recent days, the Domus continues its cultural programming by proposing another artist of the territory, in the idea that its mission cannot be separated from a privileged relationship with the various forms of artistic expression, proposing itself as a place open to the city.
From 22 October to 15 November 2024, the Domus Mazziniana in Pisa hosts the exhibition 'Twilight', dedicated to the works of the eclectic Mauro Crisfofani, "an artist full of problems and worries, as the artist must be if he wants to be credible and does not want everything to end in the most sterile game".
Cristofani’s painting is full of beautiful decorative motifs and enigmatic symbols, with a lot of references to Art Nouveau, but also to Greek and Etruscan art.
His works, perhaps born from an autobiographical impulse, dig into the depths of universal passions, tell stories, recount episodes: with a unique style, very personal, untraceable in other artists. The wonderful and magical sceneries, which have the grace of classical art, welcome mythological figures immersed in distant worlds where chimerical vegetation merges with unreal skies and waters. Precious allegories, in which the charm of beauty merges with the desire to grasp the hidden arcane in the wonderful.
Sometimes complex figures of "monsters" appear, creations of the mysterious forces of the unconscious, the dark secret of passions, in a representation that seems to want to materialize them to be able to avoid their presence.
The exibition will be inaugurated Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 17.00.
The exhibition can be visited during the opening hours of the Domus Mazziniana, with entrance from Via Massimo D'Azeglio n. 14 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8.30 to 13.30, while Tuesdays and Thursdays with continuous opening hours from 8.30 to 17.30.
