Notturno d'Archi offers a journey through different styles and periods of string music, combining works that, although different from each other, share the ability to excite and enchant the audience, an opportunity to live an evening of sublime music, which celebrates some of the most beloved masterpieces in the string repertoire.
The evening will open with the Concerto for violin and string orchestra by Felix Mendelssohn, an opera that combines technical virtuosity and emotional depth. This romantic masterpiece, with its lyrical melodies and brilliant passages, represents one of the most beloved compositions of the violin repertoire.
This was followed by Samuel Barber’s Adagio per archi, one of the most intense and emotional works of the twentieth century. This piece, famous for its poignant beauty, transports the listener into a world of pure contemplation and melancholy, touching the deepest strings of the human soul. The emotional crescendo of Barber’s adage will be the perfect culmination for an unforgettable night of music.
The evening will conclude with the Serenade for strings by Edward Elgar, a composition that reflects the grace and elegance of English music. With its nostalgic themes and warm harmonies, Elgar’s serenade is a tribute to the art of playing together, capturing the essence of serenity and refinement. This work will be a moment of tranquility and sweetness, transporting the audience in an atmosphere of pure beauty.
