On 5 July 1953 the baritone Titta Ruffo died in Florence. Seventy years after his death, his timeless voice and his great example of artist and free man will be paid homage Saturday, December 2 with a day and several moments dedicated to schools and the public organized by the Municipality of Pisa, from the Teatro Verdi of Pisa and the Associazione degli Amici della Lirica.
The day Tribute to Titta Ruffo. Timeless voice will open at 10.30 am in the Titta Ruffo Room of the Teatro of Pisa with the institutional interventions of Riccardo Buscemi, Councillor for School and Educational Services of the City of Pisa, Patrizia Paoletti Tangheroni, president of the Fondazione Teatro di Pisa and Mario Pellegrini Filippeschi, president of the Amici della Lirica. Following the presentation of the bas-relief depicting the artist made by the students of the Artistic High School "Franco Russoli" which will be placed with the summer in the street named after the baritone, in the heart of Pisa.
The morning will continue with the moment Titta Ruffo, 'parable' of an excellent artist by the students of the Liceo Musicale "Giosuè Carducci", who will read excerpts from My Parable, the autobiography of the baritone, interspersed with musical interludes performed by students of the Schools to musical address of the city: Istituto Comprensivo "Leonardo Fibonacci", Istituto Comprensivo "Liana Strenta Tongiorgi", Istituto Comprensivo "Giuseppe Toniolo".
From 3:00 p.m. the Theatre of Pisa will offer the public the opportunity to visit the Collection Titta Ruffo, the collection of costumes and jewelry scene, newspapers, scores, dedications and personal memories belonged to the artist and exhibited in the first and second gallery of the Teatro Verdi. The guided tours (and free; lasting about half an hour) by the Amici della Lirica will take place in four rounds, each reserved for groups of 25 people.

At 6:00 p.m., in the Sala Titta Ruffo, a concert of Puccini arias will pay homage to the memory of the strong artistic bond that united the Pisan baritone to Giacomo Puccini. Riccardo Mascia will accompany Greta Doveri, a young Pisan soprano, now a pupil of La Scala in Milan, and Francesco Verna, baritone protagonist of the role of Rambaldo in the Rondine, the second title of the Opera Season staged on 1st and 3rd December. The piano will be performed on stage.
