A series of meetings organized by the Municipality of Pisa with the theme "Urban Biodiversity: the city as a refuge and habitat for many animal and plant species." The appointments are all free and open to the public subject to availability.
These are the scheduled appointments:
- Friday, Nov. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. - SMS Library - "The discreet presence of reptiles in the city" dr. Marco A.L. Zuffi, Museum of Natural History, University of Pisa. To be followed by "Direct experiences of captures in Pisa," Michele Mennucci, President of the Auxiliary Rural Guard Sez. Prov.le of Pisa.
- Friday, Jan. 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. - SMS Library - "Wildlife and urbanization: man's coexistence with wild species," Dr. Nicola Maggi, head of the LIPU CRUMA Recovery Center in Livorno and LIPU expert volunteers.
- Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 3 to 5 p.m. - Republican Arsenals - "Air Quality in the City. Focus on lichens in the city as indicators and ARPAT monitoring techniques" dr. Yuri Galletti, ecologist and head of the Pisa section of Legambiente, dr. Roberto Fruzzetti of CRTQA ARPA Toscana, dr. Dennis Dalle Mura of CRTQA ARPA Toscana.
- Friday, Feb. 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. - SMS Library - "The return of the wolf in peri-urban areas: good practices for human/wolf coexistence" dr. Samantha Benucci, WWF Bosco del Bottaccio Oasis Manager and WWF Alta Toscana Wolf Project contact person.
