NuovoNormale in concert with their debut album at Giardino La Nunziatina in Pisa: rock and pop in 10 unreleased tracks, with a tribute to Franco Battiato.
NuovoNormale live at Giardino La Nunziatina in Pisa, Saturday 6 May (7.30 p.m.), with their first album, which takes shape from the sounds of electrified trumpet, 'retro' synthesisers and 'angular' guitars, with ten previously unreleased tracks and a tribute to Franco Battiato. The lyrics, in a mix of hermeticism and irony, offer a social cross-section of Italy in the new millennium, including stressed-out couriers in times of smart working, office workers crushed by corporations and grabby rubber men and charlatans intent on building walls to divide and rule. The song Sbagliato also appeared on the album Parole Liberate (2022 Baracca & Burattini), a project of social and cultural commitment in which texts written by prisoners are transformed into songs by artists such as Gianni Maroccolo, Andrea Chimenti, Petra Magoni, Finaz, Ambrogio Sparagna, Yo Yo Mundi and others.
The band is made up of Lorenzo Eva (electrified trumpet, guitar), Simone Fioravanti (electric and synthetic bass), Andrea Imberciadori (guitars, synthesisers, backing vocals), Cristian Orlandini (acoustic and electronic drums), with vocals by Andrea Pasciuti.
NuovoNormale were born in La Spezia in 2020, following previous experiences in indie-rock and electro-pop bands on the local scene. Preceded by the singles Italian Riot and Uomo di gomma, the debut album is released on 16 May 2022 on digital stores on the Baracca & Burattini label, distributed by The Orchard (Sony Music). Also available in CD version. Mixing and mastering are entrusted to Ale Sportelli, who has signed hundreds of independent rock productions over the past 30 years.
The record label. When the years were over, Paolo Bedini, with his agency Az music, took artists such as Nico, Nick Cave, The Smiths, Soundgarden, Joe Strummer, David Sylvian and several hundred others on tour in Italy. Az music later became Baracca & Burattini, first based in Rome and then in Sarzana (SP). Baracca & Burattini was responsible for the management and/or booking of Italian artists: CSI, Yo Yo Mundi, Marlene Kuntz, Ustmamò etc. This was followed by the recording side, distributed by Sony Music and Edel, with albums by Baustelle, Virginiana Miller, Malfunk, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and Ambrogio Sparagna and dozens of others produced by the label, whose main feature was to discover new artists and release their debut albums. After a few years in which the recording part had been suspended, Baracca & Burattini returns in 2022 with the Parole Liberate project and other productions to be released throughout the year, including the debut of NuovoNormale and the new albums by Luca Faggella and Teresa Plantamura.
