Friday 30 August sees the renewal of the appointment with ‘Mura di Pisa Night Experience: Special World War II’.

In the days of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Pisa, an elevated walkway with video projections and sound narratives awaits you, in collaboration with Acquario della Memoria: from the enthusiasm for entry into the war through the bombing of 31 August 1943, the German occupation, the resistance of the Casarosa partisan brigade, the city divided in two by the Arno front, the cathedral invaded by evacuees, the burning of the Camposanto Monumentale, the Nazi round-ups, up to 2 September 1944, when the Allied front crossed the Arno and liberated the city.

Departure at 9.30 pm. The event will be repeated on Friday 6 September.

Meeting point at the Torre Piezometrica (Porta Pacis) at the Fibonacci Pole with cycle/pedestrian access outside the Walls from Via San Francesco or Via Vittorio Veneto.  

The route closes in the event of bad weather. The length of the walk is 2 kilometres, comfortable shoes are recommended.
