Sunday, March 2 arrives in Pisa the second edition of "Red Pedal" the ride and walk solidarity by actress Marianella Bargilli and Olympic champion Paolo Bettini to raise awareness against gender violence.
The initiative, sponsored by the City of Pisa, is part of the program "March of women", has the support of the foundation Teatro Verdi, Pisamo and the Opera della primaziale pisana. The day will start in Piazza dei Cavalieri and will run along a route of 6 km for those who want to participate by bike or 3 km if on foot. It will close at the Verdi theatre with readings and music, the latter by the music school "Bonamici and the dance school "Ghezzi". On that occasion will also be delivered a work created specifically by the artist Marco Lodola, entitled "Alfonsina per Pisa", which portrays the Tower of Pisa and a cyclist.
PROGRAMME
9.30 a.m.,meeting place of the Knights, to the village Red Pedal;
10.30 a.m., departure for the ride and the walk. Stop in Piazza del Duomo for group photos and start of the tour around the city on two routes: 6 kilometers by bike and 3 kilometers for those who will face it on foot.
Both routes will end in front of the Teatro Verdi in Pisa where the bikes will be left to be accompanied inside by a group of dancers.
In the theatre, institutional greetings and readings and testimonies dedicated to women, with interventions by Diego Fiorini president of the foundation of the Teatro Verdi of Pisa, Gabriella Porcaro equal opportunities councillor. Will be presented the work of master Marco Lodola, entitled "Alfonsina per Pisa", made specifically for the event that represents the Tower of Pisa with a cyclist. The delivery of the proceeds from the event that will be given to charity in support of the activity of the association La Casa della Giovane di Pisa.
