OPERATION ‘CARIATIDE’ - Art forgeries seized on display at Palazzo Toscanelli
As part of the judicial operation coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pisa and conducted by the Carabinieri of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit, and with the collaboration of theEuropean Agency Eurojust for the coordination and cooperation in judicial matters between EU countries, from11 to 15 November 2024 theState Archives of Pisa will host an exhibition of some of the thousands of fake contemporary works of art seized as part of the ‘Cariatide’ operation, worth hundreds of millions of euro.
The seized fake objects reproduce glistening and, in some cases, famous works by internationally renowned artists such as Amedeo Modigliani, Andy Warhol, Bansky, Picasso, Mirò, Kandisky, Klimt, Moore, Chagall Monet, De Chirico, Boccioni, Paul Klee, Van Gogh, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Pollock, Haring, Hopper, Death Nyc, Renato Guttuso and Salvador Dali.
With the support of theNational Association of Carabinieri on Leave, it is possible to enter Palazzo Toscanelli to visit the exhibition at these times

- SPECIAL OPENING, Sunday 17 November 2024, from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.; 5.30 p.m. ‘Banksy and the Counterfeit Street Art’ meeting
