On Tuesday 11 March, the Gipsoteca di Arte Antica e Antiquarium will host a guided tour in two shifts by students from the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage.
The initiative is organised by the MARSIA laboratory of the Department of Civilisation and Forms of Knowledge.
The event is taking place on the occasion of the new exhibition project, which envisages the temporary display, in rotation, of Classical archaeology artefacts linked to different thematic nuclei: architectural and votive terracotta from Apulia, pottery and votive offerings from Etruria, and Greek black-figure and red-figure vases are on display until April.
The museum has a collection of hundreds of original pieces from different geographical and cultural backgrounds, covering a time span from the Palaeolithic to the Roman Imperial Age. This wealth makes it possible to admire and study different classes of ancient artefacts, in particular ceramic production, which includes Greek, Etruscan and Roman pottery, produced in different regions of the Mediterranean. In addition, there is a heterogeneous variety of objects, in terracotta, glass, metal and marble, from sanctuaries, necropolises and habitations.
The first round of visits will start at 10 a.m., the second at 11.15 a.m.
The duration of each visit is 45 minutes.
Participation is free of charge, but booking is preferable.
