Pisa is preparing to welcome in the best way the stage no. 10 of the next Giro d'Italia, the Lucca-Pisa time trial scheduled for Tuesday 20 May. The Organising Committee and the calendar of events from 29 January to 20 May are being set up.

Wednesday, January 29, 100 days from the Giro, meanwhile is scheduled an evening in Piazza Duomo with the extraordinary lighting in pink of the Tower at 19.00 with he champions Paolo Bettini and Fabiana Luperini. In the square from 16.30 also 100 spinning athletes from all over Italy who will precede the official ceremony of lighting the Tower.

To welcome the Giro d'Italia in the best possible way, the Municipality of Pisa also intends to celebrate the 100 years since the first passage, which took place in 1925 and all the times that the riders of the most beloved race have passed through the city. For this in the coming days will be launched the photo contest aimed at those who keep in their archives or photo albums images and memories of a ride to Pisa del Giro. Anyone can participate by submitting their own pictures. The photographs collected will contribute to compose the story for images of "100 years of passion. Pisa and the Giro d'Italia". An expert panel will select the best images to be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition. The photos should be sent, in suitable resolution, to comunicazione@comune.pisa.it

Eleven years after the last edition, the Strapazzata returns to Pisa, a non-competitive race with two recreational-motor routes of 5 and 10 km to be held on 25 April 2025. This year's event will be part of the calendar of events ‘Waiting for the Giro’ in anticipation of the passage of the stage from Pisa on 20 May 2025. All details at the dedicated event.
In anticipation of the Giro d'Italia, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 April 2025, it will be possible to take part in an exclusive bike tour, between sport and taste, to discover the best artisan workshops and local gastronomic products in Pisa. The event is organised by Smile&Ride.

Palazzo Blu celebrates the return of the Giro d'Italia to Pisa after 45 years with a photo exhibition. The Giro d'Italia first came to Pisa exactly a century ago, in 1925. The retrospective will be open to the public with free admission from 16 to 25 May 2025.

Meanwhile, the route that cyclists will take once in the city has been defined: viale condotti, via Calcesana, via Volpi-Largo Monasterio, via Garibaldi, via Santa Marta. Then first crossing the Arno at the Ponte della Fortezza, then Lungarno Galilei and second crossing of the Arno at the Ponte di Mezzo. From there the runners will cross Lungarno Pacinotti, then via Santa Maria to arrive in piazza del Duomo.
