Unique in the national panorama and exclusive to the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, on Sunday 16 April at 5 p.m., Duets and Solos, the show conceived by Daniele Cipriani Entertainment that, for the first time, brings together on the same stage five international stars of dance and music, will be staged.
With a programme of solos and pas de deux on the notes of Maurizio Baglini's piano and Silvia Chiesa's cello, the audience will be able to enjoy the magical alchemy of music combined with dance represented at the highest level by Davide Dato, prima ballerina at the Vienna State Opera, Sergio Bernal, former Ballet Nacional de España, and Hyo-Jung Kang, former prima ballerina at the Stuttgart Ballet, now prima ballerina at the Vienna State Opera.
Sumptuous is the programme of this special evening in the name of happiness, grace and beauty, and full of references and tributes to the great masters of music and dance.
Some anticipations: Sergio Bernal will perform a modern Morte del Cigno al maschile, choreographed by Ricardo Cue, next to the traditional Morte del Cigno by Michel Fokine interpreted by Hyo-Jung Kang, while Silvia Chiesa and Maurizio Baglini will accompany them on the notes of Camille Saint-Saëns. Bernal again will treat the audience to one of his scorching Iberian pieces, a flamenco that will send the audience into raptures on Maurice Ravel's celebrated Boléro, masterfully performed on the piano by Baglini.
Davide Dato will shine in Suite of Dances (choreography by Jerome Robbins), a ballet originally created for Mikhail Baryshnikov, accompanied by Silvia Chiesa's cello and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Together with Hyo-Jung Kang, Davide Dato dances in Other dances while Baglini performs pieces by Frédéric Chopin. As a duo, Bernal and Dato will then perform Folia de Caballeros, an original male pas de deux, with choreography by Bernal/De Luz, accompanied by the Baglini-Chiesa duo performing Arcangelo Corelli.
Intense pages of Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Chopin and Paganini/Liszt in the performance of the two musicians further enrich the evening.
