The customary Christmas concert is back in Pisa Cathedral, organised by the Opera della Primaziale Pisana with the contribution of the Fondazione Pisa. On Friday 17 December at 9 p.m., the programme features two instrumental pieces: Antonio Vivaldi's Symphony in B minor "Al Santo Sepolcro", RV 169 for strings and basso continuo and Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto "fatto per la notte di natale", interspersed with three opera arias inspired by prayer, the Ave Maria from Verdi's Otello and Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, and the aria O mio Signor from Händel's Serse, all adaptations of famous musical themes.
