Amico Museo returns to the whole regional territory from May 10th to June 2nd, the event, now in its XVIIIth edition, which collects events distributed throughout Tuscany and which sees 180 museums join this edition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death and its creative genius, with more than 300 initiatives ranging from guided tours, conferences, shows to exhibitions, and creative workshops dedicated to children and urban trekking. There are over 90 extraordinary and free openings on the Night of Museums that will take place throughout Europe on May 18th. The theme of the XVIIIth edition of Amico Museo is 'Museums as cultural hubs: the future of tradition', a topic identified by ICOM International Council of Museums for May 18th International Museum Day. The topic is declined in two thematic proposals to which the initiatives of Amico Museo 2019 can be linked: 'Leonardo da Vinci, creative genius' and 'The creative museum: from tradition to the future'. For greater accessibility of the museum, some visits will be arranged for people with disabilities such as the Civic Museum of San Sepolcro (AR), the Diocesan Museum of the Chapter of Cortona (AR), the Benozzo Gozzoli Museum in Castelfiorentino (FI), the museum of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence and at the Botanical Museum and Botanical Garden of the University of Pisa. The program is also rich in workshop events dedicated to children, experiences that combine creativity, play and fun. IL PROGRAMMA DI AMICO MUSEO
