Workshops for children aged 7 and up at the Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa! Workshops and guided tours for children with our didactically experienced archaeologists: the little ones will visit the museum, with its perfectly preserved ancient ships, and take part in a beautiful didactic workshop. Parents can in turn visit the museum on their own or take part in the scheduled guided tour.
A different workshop will be offered each time.
Thematic tours for everyone! Guided tours of one hour with an in-depth look at the proposed theme, to be guided by our operators through the museum rooms, discovering ancient curiosities and secrets, with explanations suitable for all ages! Sundays at 3.30 p.m.
APRIL 2024
14 April → Thematic visit "Once upon a time there were the giants of the sea".
An itinerary designed to stimulate the curiosity of young and old, where everyone can become familiar with the great Roman ships and the history of Pisa.
21 April → Workshop "PeschiAmo!"
We reconstruct a fishing line with hooks and floats, modelled on those found during the excavations of the Ships.
28 April → Thematic visit "Trade routes and ship cargoes: import-export in the ancient world".
Most of the ships found in Pisa were used for trade, in fact they still had their cargoes on board when they were found. Thanks to these incredible finds, we now know much more about both the goods and the routes: the ships travelled along real roads in the sea, transporting the most diverse goods, such as 'hams' from Spain, fruit from Campania, but also curious goods, such as kilos of fine sand from the Gulf of Naples.

Workshops take place with a minimum of 6 children.
For each child the presence of an adult in the museum is required for the duration of the activity.
Thematic visits take place with a minimum of 10 participants.
