Urban trekking is a form of ‘gentle sport’, suitable for all ages and all seasons, but it can also be considered a new way of tourism. A sustainable tourism that tends to enhance the most hidden and lesser-known corners of cities. The urban ‘walker’, through thematic itineraries, has the possibility of living a different experience, being able at the same time to discover the treasures of art and nature and to practice sport.

Two itineraries of this edition proposed and conceived by Piedi in Cammino in collaboration with the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Pisa for the 21st National Day of Urban Trekking scheduled throughout Italy on Thursday 31 October 2024. In our city the initiatives will take place on 31 October and 1 November!

The Urban Trekking will be led by the Tourist and Environmental Guides of Piedi in Cammino. The group will consist of a maximum of 30 people. Participation is free of charge, but online booking is compulsory by filling in the registration forms in the individual events.

There are two routes proposed by Piedi in Cammino to discover Pisa:

Itinerario 1

Route 1. PISA OF WATER AND STONE

This urban trek will retrace the fascinating historical evolution of Pisa, inextricably linked to the presence of water: the river, the sea. We will cross the city from one bank of the Arno to the other, starting from the symbolic monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli.
