October 13 is the National Day dedicated to Metastatic Breast Cancer. As every year the main monuments of the Italian cities will be illuminated in pink fuchsia: Pisa will participate in the day with the lighting in pink of the Tower of Pisa, on the initiative of the International Breast Association. To ensure that the message reaches loud and clear, the Association will entrust the St.Jacob’s Choir with the task of accompanying with his beautiful voices the lighting of the Tower in front of all present. The appointment is in Piazza dei Miracoli, in front of the entrance of the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, Friday October 13 at 19.15. The initiative is organized by the International Breast Association under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa, which will also illuminate in pink Logge dei Banchi.

The day of 13 October was established at the request of all associations of Europa Donna Italia who consider it very important to raise awareness of this disease. At the moment in Italy metastatic breast cancer affects more than 45,000 women whose only certainty is that they cannot hope for a cure, however with the joint commitment of institutions, research, careful and dedicated doctors can often make the disease chronic. This means carrying out so many checks and always staying on guard vigilant and attentive, but... living.
