From Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January 2025, ‘Pisa Cat Friendly’ returns to the heart of the city, dedicated to introducing cats in all their facets. The event, with free admission, is held under the patronage of the Region of Tuscany, the Province of Pisa, the Municipality of Pisa, the University of Pisa, the North-West Tuscany Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Calci, the Municipality of Vicopisano, the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme, and Confesercenti Pisa.
Programme:
Friday 24 January 2025 from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. at SMS Centro espositivo San Michele degli Scalzi meeting with disabled people, seminar ‘Felines in Harmony: Interaction and Wellbeing for All’ by Manuela Bollati, Erika Masoni, Sara Pasini, Paolo Colombara, Katia Mazzavillani, Dr. Giorgia del Grande.
Dr Sara Pasini, representing Katia Mazzavillani's farm Fattoria Sociale ‘Soave Zaffiro’, will give a detailed description of IAA (animal-assisted interventions) and possible applications with the cat as co-therapist. She will show, with practical trials, how the caress course is carried out, a preparatory activity for an assisted intervention with animals (AAA, EAA, TAA). He will also talk about the benefits of living with an animal (now also ‘certified’ by doctors) and the preparation of assistance animals for Skillt Companion Animals.
Saturday 25 January 2025 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sala Regia of the municipality of Pisa breeders' presence in the historic shops of Pisa seminars with veterinarians and FIFE judges.
Dr. Costanza Guasconi will hold the seminar ‘The cat from A to Z’.
Dr Barbara Bazzotti will hold the seminar ‘Il Signor Gatto è servito! (A simple guide on what to put in the bowl)’.
Dr Carla Rotini will hold the seminar ‘Pedigree and microchips... friends of friends'.
Dr. Katia Pocci will hold the seminar ‘All cat breeds, an overview of feline breeds’.
On Sunday, 26 January from 9.30 a.m. at SMS Centro Espositivo di San Michele degli Scalzi, seminars will be held by Dr Tommaso Vezzosi ‘Poniamo il cuore al centro: corretto screening cardiologico nei nostri gatti’ and Dr Matteo Tesi ‘Dalla nascita allo svezzamento: tutti i rischi che corrono i gattini nelle primi settimane di vita’ .
From 3.30 p.m. there will be seminars by Dr Laura Borromeo ‘How to raise a balanced and calm kitten’ and Dr Maria Cristina Crosta ‘The cat's sense organs’.
