Urban trekking is a form of 'gentle sport', suitable for all ages and all seasons, but it can also be considered a new way of tourism. A sustainable tourism that tends to enhance the most hidden and lesser-known corners of cities. The urban 'walker', through thematic itineraries, has the possibility of living a different experience, being able at the same time to discover the treasures of art and nature and to practice sport.
A different approach, therefore, that allows people to work on their physical and mental wellbeing, while at the same time inviting them to visit the city, moving away from the areas most travelled by traditional tourist flows.
There are two routes proposed by Piedi in Cammino to discover Pisa:
Route 1. ON THE THRESHOLD OF THE FOREST. URBAN TREKKING IN MARINA DI PISA
From the station of the old Trammino you will begin a walk in the green among paths to retrace the history and traditions of Marina di Pisa. At trekking pace you will explore the Tombolo Park and be surprised by the quiet beauty of this place. A nature that you will rediscover in the verses and brushstrokes of the artists who frequented Marina di Pisa during the Belle Epoque period. Amidst tales of yesterday and today, you will take a look at the future by talking about the projects and activities that contribute to the wellbeing of this precious resource through its protection and enhancement.

Route 2. URBAN TREKKING IN PISA: LANDING PLACE OF CULTURES, LAND OF METAMORPHOSIS
The urban trek starts symbolically from TUTTOMONDO, Keith Haring's mural, a universal manifesto of harmony and love. On your way you will encounter places and monuments that will tell us how cultural exchanges, which have always been at the heart of urban development, have been invaluable in transforming and shaping the city of today. A historical excursus from antiquity arrives to the present day: from the port of Pisa, a centre of trade and port of new ideas and knowledge, to the city of today, a destination for travellers and cradle of university students.
